Service · Start a business
Start your business in Tamil Nadu, the right way.
The first few decisions, from your business structure to registrations and pricing, shape everything that follows. We help first-time founders get them right and launch with a clear 90-day plan.
The setup steps
What you'll need
- Choose a structure: sole proprietorship, partnership, LLP or private limited. It decides tax, liability and how you raise money.
- PAN and a current account in the business name.
- Udyam registration: free, online, and needed for MSME benefits and schemes.
- GST: once you cross the turnover threshold, or earlier if you sell online or across states.
- Local licences: a trade licence from your local body, registration under the Shops and Establishments Act, and FSSAI if you sell food.

Questions
Before you call
Do I need GST from day one?
Not always. It depends on your turnover, what you sell and where. Selling online usually needs it early. We'll check with you.
Which structure should I choose?
Many small businesses start as a proprietorship. If you have partners, investors or more risk, an LLP or private limited may suit better. We decide with you and your CA.
Can you help women entrepreneurs?
Yes. MPR Ventures is a women-led firm, and we help you find the schemes and support meant for women founders.
